Frequently asked questions
what is seed cycling?
Seed cycling is a dietary practice used to promote hormonal balance throughout the menstrual cycle. find out more on our about page.
what can seed cycling help with?
seed cycling can be used to regulate periods, improve fertility and provide support through perimenopause. When used consistently, in combination with a healthy lifestyle, seed cycling can reduce hormonal symptoms, including: acne, bloating, cramps, fatigue and mood swings.
are the packs vegan friendly?
yes, all ingredients in our packs are vegan friendly and produced in a completely vegan kitchen (by a vegan!). however, there is the possibility of cross contamination from our suppliers and we do not currently have vegan certification.
are the packs organic?
yes, all ingredients used are organic. however, we do not currently have organic certification.
are there any allergens?
phase two seed packs include sesame seeds, so if you are allergic to sesame seeds, please do not purchase hadau seeds.
due to the suppliers we use, there is also a chance of cross contamination and, therefore, the packs could contain traces of celery, gluten, milk, mustard seeds, nuts, peanuts and soya.
how long do the packs last?
the shelf life of our packs is six months, but if you take the seeds daily (as recommended) each pack should last one to two months. this will depend on how many tablespoons you take per day and how long your cycle is.
how should I take the seeds?
it’s up to you! however, some popular options include adding them to smoothies, porridge, cereal and/or yoghurt; sprinkling them on meals like pasta or chilli; or including them in energy ball/bar recipes.
our favourite way is in a smoothie as it’s a great way to get extra fruit and/or vegetables in your diet too!
my cycle is irregular / i don’t know when I ovulate, how do I know which seeds to take when?
if your cycle is irregular, seed cycling could help to regulate your cycle. if you’re not sure when you ovulate each cycle, we’d recommend tracking this using an app. however, you can also opt to take phase one seeds from day 1 to day 14 of your cycle and then phase two seeds from day 15 until the day before your period.
will seed cycling work if I’m on hormonal contraception?
you should still see lots of health benefits from eating seeds if you’re on hormonal contraception, but there’s a limit to its effectiveness in terms of your cycle whilst taking synthetic hormones. always discuss with a healthcare professional before making any decisions around changes to medication or contraception.
